I was very impressed when I got my copy of Sesame, to see such extensive PRINTED documentation. Not often you get this much paper with a software package. And, the manuals are on the CD, so you can use Adobe Reader (Free program) to search the manuals for topics you want to read about.

Sesame Database Manager is compatible with Symantec Q&A. Q & A users will find that Sesame uses many of the same keystrokes, the same search syntax, and almost the same programming syntax as used in a Q&A database. Sesame can also translate Q&A databases. Find out more.

FLTK

Portions of the Sesame user interface were created using the Fast Light Toolkit (FLTK). The current version of the FLTK library is available for download at http://www.fltk.org.

This is the modified source code for Fltk-1.1.3 as used by Sesame. To use these alterations in your own Fltk based projects, download the Fltk-1.1.3 distribution from the Fltk website (www.fltk.org), overlay that installation with the Fl_Device patch for fltk-1.1.3, also available through www.fltk.org. Then overlay the resulting set of source files with the contents of this tar archive. All of the modifications made to Fltk-1.1.3 are marked with a comment containing the term "COW" in capital letters and are dated December 15th, 2003. All of the modifications are specific for use with Sesame. They do not add any significant features to Fltk, nor do they fix any problems or bugs. In addition, because Sesame is statically linked to Fltk, it is not possible to use this source code to alter Sesame in any way.

In that light, it is highly recommended that you use the unmodified original Fltk library as made available by http://www.fltk.org instead of this modified version. Fltk is a cross platform development library provided free of charge and covered by a modified version of the LGPL, allowing for unencumbered static and dynamic linking.

Lantica Software LLC, is providing this source code in compliance with and covered by the conditions of the LGPL as originally modified for use with Fltk-1.1.3.

I have really become very fond of the control panels in Sdesigner. When I started playing with Sesame I thought why do I need the property viewer, I wondered why could they not just display the existing values on the property editor. Now I love being able to view my element property values in one box and just click on the appropriate feature in the editor box. They obviously thought this through and I am glad they did. I have been realizing that if I give up thinking the way I was used to (The Q&A way) I can achieve amazing things with Sesame.
