Try this and let me know if you find the same results:
Make a selection in a combo box using the arrow keys (not the mouse pointer) while updating a record, press enter to roll-up the choices (correctly leaving new selection displayed in combo box), and while the focus is still in combo box, press the F10 key (not any other navigation method). Then press F9 to see that the new selection was NOT saved in the combo box.

If focus changes out of the combo box to another field before pressing F10, then the new selection is saved correctly.

This problem will also occur in ADD mode if the record has already been committed to the database by pressing F10, and you return to it to make the change.

PS: I also found that clicking on the combo box button does not open the combo box choices unless the cursor is placed in the combo box first.

I have posted this update for the benefit of anyone that finds this archive, and as a reminder to myself.

Confirming that this has been fixed.
