An Obsolete Form Converts

I developed a DB in Q&A for Windows.  I had one data entry form.  I later copied that DB twice and redesigned the form.  I converted one of those DBs recently, opened sesame and was looking at field names, static text and a layout that was reminiscent of the original Q&A data entry form.  All changes that I made in the second generation DB were gone.

I was able to correct that in the 34 record, 8 field DB, but am looking down the road at the other second generation DB with 2000 records and a lot of additional fields etc.

Is this normal behavior for Sesame?  Anyway to avoid the layout regressing to the first generation state?

Dulac71,

I believe that the only form that is converted from Qawin is the Master Form. This is were Qawin places every field you create in Qawin regardless of what form you place it on.

Just for fun I have converted a bunch of Q&A for windows databases with Sesame since I received my copy, some very large. All had numerous revisions. The version of Qawin I used was the one that allowed interoperability with the Dos versions. I have not noticed any problem with the data or the actual field names.

What version of Q&A for windows are you using?
Had you ever accessed the data with Q&A Dos?

Please keep me posted on what you find.

Thanks
