Import Facility Lacking Choices?

The export facilities in Sesame is elaborate with extensive choices and seems to be very versatile. Whereas, Import facility is inflexible and expect data to be only one way. No choices as to delimiter, Separator or Quotes.  Compared to this, Import facility of Q&A is more versatile. Yes, there is Hierarchichal import to accomodate subform.

Am I missing something here?

No you are not missing anything, but things are not as restrictive as the lack of options for Sesame import seems to indicate.  You can have quotes around text or not, Sesame handles both.

Sesame does not have a fixed ASCII import, but this can be achieved by a mass update which is not much more onerous than Q&A's fixed ASCII import. I described this in detail in the January edition of Inside Sesame (www.insidesesame.com).

In future releases we hope to expand the import facilities. We'll need to, to accommodate the thousands of people flocking to Sesame from other products.
