In Q&A, pick-lists featured a way of typing in the first few characters of a desired entry to move down a long list.  (My list is longer than the height of the screen.)

In Sesame, I need to use the mouse or arrow keys.  The arrow keys are slow (PgDn does nothing), and using the mouse breaks the flow of data entry (and it's not that much faster than the arrow keys).

Will this feature be corrected/added in the next release?

This won't be changed in the next release. We will look into what it would take to speed navigation through long picklists. Meanwhile, you might consider applying one of the available techniques to filter your lists to make them more manageable.
