Save Application button?

This may be a dumb question, but what does the Save Application button in Sesame do? I understand that the Save under Navigation in the command tree saves the record, but how does one modify the application in Sesame (i thought that was what Designer was for)

Thanx for any clarification.

In runtime it does not save the design of the application. It does force Sesame to write all of the committed records (changed or not) to the application file. It is only useful under rare circumstances. The only occasion in which I have found it useful is after a reconcile, the save command (in the Runtime) can reduce the size of the resulting .db/.dat - forcing a kind of "garbage collection".
