Changing a field type

I have created a single line field and I need a multi-line field instead. I have imported data to the single line field so I don't want to delete the field. Apparently, I used a colon (Smiley instead of a Left arrow (<). How do I edit that colon and change it?

i think you can delete the textbox and create a multiline field, bind it to the name of the textbox you deleted.  that should retain the data in that LE.

In Designer:

1. Select the element you want to change.
2. In the Property Editor, select the Text Tab.
3. Near the bottom of the Text Tab, choose Text fromthe Set dropdown.
4. The single line/multiline choice above it and to the right should become enabled. Select Multi Line.

Thank you for your response. Here's my problem. I don't think I named that field and I have several such unnamed fields so I'm not recognizing which field to change. I do know that the field that needs to be changed is the last field on the form. How do I determine the correct field?
