Translation Automation / Batch (Read 1052 times)

	Is there a way to automate database translation? Is it necessary to translate databases 1 at a time? What workaround is there for someone with 300+ databases?

	You have to translate them one at a time. It is not that bad. Once you do a few of them, it will go fast. Are your databases are related? Do they combiningly make an application? If so you will have to do little planning as to what to merge and what to be left as separate a application.

	The command line option "-qa QA_FILE.DTF" was disabled just before the initial release. It was intended for batch translations. I can check with marketing to see if I can reenabled it for the next release.

	Translation process is not time consuming. (make sure that you prepare properly before translation as per translation guide). But it is really going through the codes and redesigning the forms that takes time.

	Erika ("Hammer") is right - in Windows and on Unix, the "." means "here". Just like ".." means one directory up from "here". It is the operating system's "shorthand" for the current directory. It has meant that since 1970. So if you specify a file to read: C:\> sesame .\this_file.db That means read that file from the CWD. It has nothing to do with Sesame - it is an operating system construct used in both Windows (and DOS) and Unix.
