Yea...like a way to get a hierarchical ASCII file directly out of Q&A.

Walt, could you explain this a bit more?  That is typical of  challenges that I find interesting to solve.

You need output from one Q&A database to be split and imported as multiple Sesame databases?   Can you provide a description of the existing Q&A structure and the desired Sesame structure?

Perhaps this should be under its own Subject if we pursue this.

I like Carl's suggestion to add such retrieve spec programming feature to element entry and element exit event. With the use of @mode ( ) command such programming will be non-intrusive to the other modes such as add and update.

Bharat,

My thoughts were that @Mode would not even be an issue if we had separate events such as "On Retrieve Spec Element Entry" and "On Retrieve Spec Element Exit".

Erika,

After posting the suggestion to use @Mode, I realized that it would probably be a nightmare for you to deal with on the technical side. That's why I posted later regarding the additional events option. That should be backwards compatible and still be simple enough for users to program.

It's a viable option.

Carl and Erika,
Yes, It sounds good. Carl is suggesting two additional On Retrieve Element Entry and On Retrieve Element Exit events. So there will be total three On Retrieve Events namely

On Retrieve Spec Open
On Retrieve Element Entry
On Retrieve Element Exit

This will open up the whole new horizon and possibilities.
