Translating a QA4 database

After reading the translation guide, I successfully translated two QA4 databases after only minor pretranslation adjustments.  Now, I'm having real trouble with a third QA4 database.  After translating, I get the message: "Some or all of the programming in this form has failed to compile.  No event programing will run."  I get a message in the Log found in the Server Administration: ".  .  . S_CLIENT 460000 Warning: layout element name [Next] resolves to a reserved keyword".  This is the only warning in the Log.  I understand that "Next" is a reserved word, as foung in appendix three of the programming guide, and that it can't be used as an element name.  The problem is that I never had a field name (element name) "Next" in my QA4 data base.  I checked the Field Names Spec (File/Design/Redesign/Field Name Spec) in QA4 very carefully.  I have no "Next" as a field name or as a label.  I know that I had no loops in the database because I don't even know how to wright one.  I don't think QA$ even allows for looping.

It sounds like you are on the right track.

I think the most commonly used "reserved word" is DATE.

===============
PS. You can do looping with Q& by making some fields to use as counters, but this is not the place for that discussion.  You are moving into Sesame, go for it!

If you test your code in Designer, you should get the specific compiler errors. The Warning you describe will not prevent your code from running. See Pages 21-22 of the Programming Guide for instructions on Testing your code.

Thanks for the help and suggestions for translating my QA4 DB.  I have been using your suggestion and making progress.  Slow, but sure. E.N.
