The second paragraph on page 20 of the programming guide tells us that the text editor does not automatically wrap the lines.  Is there a way to make the editor automatically wrap the lines?

No. Programming editors do not normally wrap. Doing so can introduce wrapping (newlines) into things which must remain single constructs, such as two-word element names, etc.
