navigation error in table mode

Please note that when entering the last row of records in table mode, the user is forced from the column they were just in, to the first column.

Enter data into the next to last row of a column, then press down arrow to move to next row in same column. repeat until the end.

This causes many headaches when a user is running down the row pasting data into into each field followed by the down arrow key.

Just a heads-up.

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

I think that behavior is on purpose. Because when you down-arrow to the last row, you are actually entering a brand new record; in which case, it should start in the first LE.

No, This is when you down-arrow from the 'next-to-last' row, to the last row. Not creating a new record.

users tend to run down a column using cntrl-v to paste and when they get to the last row (enter the last record), they are forced into the first column and almost always paste their data over whatever happens to be there. Esc allows them to back out of the field without committing the change, but its still a problem.

Thanks,
STeve

I am NOT seeing the same thing in my subforms. You are talking about subforms, aren't you?

No, sorry. Not in subforms but in the Shift-F6 Table View. And only when pressing down while in 'edit mode' in a field.

Let us know if you see it.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve,

Yes, I do see it in Shift-F6 Table View.

It only happens if I am editing the fields; not if I simply navigate through the records.

If you are using Table View (Shift-F6) for data entry, please make note of the statements on pages 175-176 of the Sesame Users Guide.

Mark, thanks for the info. I read through and don't see anything regarding the issue we're referring to.

Thanks,

Steve,

I think Mark just wanted to make sure that you were aware that using Table View for editing data bypasses the protections and programming that you can build into your Forms.

Mark or Erika,

Can we look forward to a fix for this issue in the next release?

Thanks,
