If any of you are interested, Inside Sesame  recently posted an online Q&A "Data Dictionary" database analyzer that can check for certain types of translation issues.

That really looks like a great idea.  I am sure I will probably be back to check it out again.

I just got involved in translating a Q&A 4.0 WIN database into Sesame a few days ago.  Against my strict and standard translation procedures, the translation was attempted without any front end analysis, field name corrections, etc.

Needless to say, there were HUNDREDS  of fields that were not accepted by Sesame.  A total disaster.

I just checked the link in this forum, and the utility does not appear to support the Windows version.  It is quite clear that this is for DOS.

Is there a way to export the Field Names from the Windows version into a file?  Hmmm, ......  maybe add the Windows patch to my copy of Q&A 4.0, and try to open the database in that manner.....then could use on this link...... could be a Sensible Solution.
