can you in Sesame

Is there a method to deactivate or hide  the  open designer, open an application and save an application icons from the menu when Sesame is run?

I have been shown AddToTranslationTable function but can that be used on icons?

Will AddToTranslationTable work on the heading Sesame yada yada ? If no is there at least a method to not show the complete path and extension to the db file?

You could consider starting Sesame with a batch file that has the paths to the Sesame databases.  The batch file can use the switches to stop the splash screen.  Change the batch file attributes to make the file hidden.

Now call the batch file.  So the icon properties will now show the path to the batch file, but not to the Sesame databases.

If someone follows the path to the batch file to read the contents, they will not see  it since the file is hidden.  You could also use an old utility bat2exe to compile the batch file so it cannot be read/edited.

You could also make the Sesame databases hidden so they will not show up on a Search/Find process.

These steps are not foolproof, but wil make it a little difficult for users who are unfamiliar with working under the covers.  Explorer may also be toggled to hide/show hidden files, which would overcome some of the suggestions here.

Perhaps I misunderstood the last part of your question, Marie.

I thought that you were trying to hide the path and name of the Sesame database files when Sesame was run.  And I assumed that you were running it from a desktop icon.

Sorry if I answered the wrong question.

Marie,
I know you can hide the menu tree at startup, and work off a custom menu.

Marie,

You can't hide the toolbar buttons.

You can't change the window caption itself using AddToTranslationTable.

You can remove sdesigner.exe from any computer that does not need to change the application. You can also use rootdirs.ini to ensure that, even if the user selects Open Application, their only choice will be the one you want them in.
