Odd behavior when uptading

When I try to update or change the information of any field of any database, the letters that I type do not fall where the cursor is but a few spaces before.
I have uninstalled and installed Sesame many times and always get the same behavior.
I am using Windows 98 Operating System.
What should I do? ???

This was resolved in an e-mail but I figured I would post the answer here in case any one has a problem like this in the future.

The problem was that the elements were trying to use a font that did not exist on the current computer. The files had been transferred from another computer which had that font. The User changed the font face to Arial and the problem went away.
