I am using a splash screen at start-up and would like the Login/password pop-up to be in a different location.

Can this be controlled?  How?

Initial window position for fully qualified windows (those with a title bar, border, etc...) is controlled by the operating system. Some operating systems allow the user to set the initial placement behavior by preference: cascading, follow mouse, etc...
