I have had the most awful time for two days now, trying to perform what I consider a very simple and "routine" function.
I retrieved a group of records, set up my export specs and exported the data to a file.
I then opened an MS Word merge document to complete the merge and I kept getting errors in almost every record.
Finally, I opened the exported file, set Word to reveal paragraph marks and found there were only a few.
I read the manual several times and overlooked this one (very clear) sentence:
Quote:Make sure to give the file a .txt extension.
From "old" habit I had been saving the file with a .asc extention. When I changed the export file name to include a .txt extension, it worked like a charm ...
So, I simply wanted to pass this along in case anyone else makes a similar mistake.
