How do I turn off F3?

Hi all,

I understand how to control and hide the Command Tree, but if a user hits F3, it still offers the option to delete a record ... how can I turn that off for certain user groups?

Blair

So, if I put in application settings

if @group = "user" then notifyform(4)

That will keep anyone in the user group from deleting any record in any form?

That wil prevent a user in the "user" group from deleting that form (the current form when the programming runs). You will have to run similar code for each form you seek to protect.

I should warn you. There is a known bug in 1.1.2 that allows the user to delete a table row in a table subform using the command tree (not F3), even if NotifyForm(4) is in place. Its been fixed in 1.1.3.

Hey Mark,

The latest issue of Inside Sesame said 1.1.3 should be available ... oh, a couple of weeks ago.

I'm sure the convention has garbled a few schedules, but do you have any idea when this will be put up on the Lantica site?

As I said in a different thread:

No. I'm sorry, its been a while since we had a release. The number of bugs reported and the severity of the bugs fell significantly with 1.1.2, so we have not had the same sence of urgency. Also, one of our testers got severely hurt in a car accident and only recently got out of the hospital. That, and that most of Lanticans have been preparing for the User's Conference, has us somewhat behind schedule.
