SESAME USER NETWORKING

Hi -

I raised this question in another thread - however - I think it got "lost in the shuffle."  This topic is very important to me, so I am starting a new thread and I do hope I will hear some thoughts from many of you.

I'm especially interested in meeting and communicating with other Sesame users.  The only way I can come close to that is through this forum.  So there is no misunderstanding, I think this forum is PHENOMINAL!  It is probably one of the best forums I have ever participated in.  Since the feedback is so prompt I sometimes feel like I am doing "instant messaging."  Also, having direct contact with the database designers is the best "gift" we could ever get.

Even so, I would like to have some other means of communication and the ability to reach other users who either are not participating here or who simply aren't "vocal" here.

I am especially interested in being able to contact other Sesame users in Florida - with a view towards starting a user group (preferably) in the Tampa area  ..... which I would be happy to "host." Any suggestions?

For starters, I would appreciate it very much if you would go to my website

and complete the SESAME NETWORK REGISTRATION form under the SESAME page.  It seems to me that would be a good way to get "something" started.

Everyone's viewpoints - in this regard - would be most welcome.

Thanks!

- Spencer

Tried to sign up but could not locate the form on your site.  Please provide more instructions besides the home page, which I skipped, too much Flash.

FYI....I know that you have travelled to our SANE meetings in the past, but it is really a long trip from Florida to New Hampshire.  So it got me to start thinking about Net Conferencing for future SANE meetings.  Need to do some homework, biggest issue is no internet access in our meeting building.  Next meeting is Feb 4, 2006.

Check out Sesame Associates of New England (SANE) in the future for updates to that idea.

Bob -

I am not ... repeat  not ... removing the splash page.  I like it!!!!  (Isn't it enough that I removed sound from the e-mails I send you?)  lol   By the way, that is not the "home" page - it is just a "splash" page (to wake you up) and can be skipped without losing any info at all.

All you should have to do is move your cursor over the SESAME page and a sub-page title of SESAME NETWORK should appear to the side.  Then just slide your mouse over SESAME NETWORK and that is what you click on for the form.  By the way, you can also click on the SESAME page which contains links to this forum, Lantica Software, Inside Sesame, and other related web-sites.

Net conferencing for SANE meeting sounds like a GREAT idea.  If there is any way I can help, PLEASE do let me know.  In the meantime, would you mind if I included - in my Sesame links page - a link to your Sane website?  I would love to do that for "starters."

Thanks!

Hi -

Just saw your question Mark.  It WAS the "OTHER" Bob (Bob Scott) who submitted the very first registration form.

For anyone who wants to skip the entire site (what a shame - lol), here's a link that will take you directly to the reigstration form.

Of course, while you're there, it wouldn't "hoit" to look around.   Smiley
