Illegal field name?

I translated a database named TARIFF with a single form named TARIFF.   On the form was a field/layout element named TARIFF.

I was unable to do any computations with this field until I renamed it to TARIFF_AMOUNT, presumably because of some kind of conflict with the form or database name.  I was getting "operand" errors, with the program tester pointing to the * symbol.

Can someone point me to the section of the manuals that explains this problem?  I can't seem to find it.  I wasn't aware of any restrictions other than not using a reserved word.

The issue in this case is that you had an element name that is the same as the Form name. Designer does not allow this, but the condition can slip through on a translation.
