I don't use Sesame just yet.  I am wondering does it export information to Excel besides in text format or does it have ODBC that works from within Excel to read Sesame database information?

You can export csv files to Excel.

AND

Sesame does have an ODBC driver that allows you to link to Sesame from Excel.  It currently is one-way, allowing you to read Sesame, but cannot write back to Sesame.  But you can export from Excel and import into Sesame if needed.

If you want to drive the automation from within Excel, you can also use Sesame Extractor - a command line driven data extractor for Sesame.
