Sesame 2.0

Hey all!

I just wanted to let you know that we are putting Sesame 2.0 into the field for the initial Beta run on Feb 1. This initial Beta is limited to a small group of current users whose existing applications cover a known range of features and requirements. This group has already been notified. Once they've a had a couple of weeks to check out their applications, we'll be steadily opening up the Beta group as we progress. We'll let you know when and where you can sign up, if you are interested in participating.

BTW, please don't start asking me for information about pricing and suchlike. I'm Development. I'll post that stuff as it's released by Lantica.

We like Sesame 2.0 a lot. We think you will too!

That is good news that everyone has been waiting for.  Thanks for sharing that.  It is good that we now can tell people that version 2 is real, and going into beta testing.

Did you notice the recent legislation that removed the last two weeks of January to help daylight savings time?
Jan 17-31 have been canceled, so Feb 1 is only a few days away, right after the 15th!  Roll Eyes

Well, I can wish, can't I?

You know those politicians, it's obviously one of their personal holidays, another benefit not shared with us commoners.  The important thing is to make Feb 1 happen sooner.

Foster, just to be clear, the Feb 1 date is from Erica, not from me.  And that is shipment to beta testing, not for general release yet.  But at least it is now closer to reality.

Bob,
You said Feb. 1 was only a few days away and since I was replying a few days  (does 1 day count?) later I just assumed that it was Feb. 1st ( I can dream can't I). Wink

Yes it is beta, but that just means it is getting closer to being available to me! Cheesy

Do we have a dancing smiley? Roll Eyes

BTW, this isn't meant as one of those open-ended betas. It is our intent to release 2.0 at this year's User Conference, to be scheduled in the general neighborhood of June.

And no, I don't know where it will be held.  Smiley

Thanks Erika!

Knowing how software developers hate to announce estimated release dates (and I understand good reasons why), it is VERY frustrating to users awaiting much anticipated enhancements and having no idea when they may appear.  Giving us some idea of the planned time for testing to end and release to happen is very nice and just one more indication of the difference in the Lantica Team!

Novice user here...two databases, subforms, boss who likes "details"...keep me in mind  Roll Eyes

Version 2.0 appears to be wonderful according to the little I've gleaned from some forum posts...not complaining about the current version though...perfect translation of our Q&A data, no missing records, merged our programs with zero difficulties...

"what more could I ask for?"

*this is where you nice people are supposed to tell me*  Cheesy

Once all the registered Sesame Professionals have given 2.0 the once over, we'll likely be expanding the Beta group. We'll be asking for volunteers then. Thank you very much for the offer.  We appreciate the feedback we get from Beta.
