Failed to read a record

I am getting the error "Failed to read a record at 4474."

Is this recoverable, or must I use a backup copy?

What percent loading does it get to? You will need to send the files in to support@lantica.com

If you send the files in there is a very good chance that I can get them to open and then send them back to you.

I don't want to waste your time doing that - I have a current backup. I was wondering if there was anything else I could do when this happens. And, do you know what the most likely cause of this problem would be?

Hello Carl,

The most common cause of this problem is a reconcile to an application that is in use, or two separate copies of Sesame using the same DB file. Not saying that is what you did, just saying those are the most common causes of that message. Next common would be  mis-matched DB and DAT files(Ex: One from today and one from a backup). Copying over the DB and DAT files while they are in use could cause this as well.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure none of those things have occurred.

Hello Carl,

If you want you can send me the s_log0000.log file and I'll take a quick peek at it and see if I can figure out in your case what happened.
