[Fixed] Sesame 2.0- Programming - Using Number Pad

Fixed in 2.0.5

Hi -

I'm having a problem when programming, using the number key pad.  Even though the NumLock is disengaged, when I use the numeric key pad, it responds with numbers.

For example, if I press the right arrow on the keypad, the number 6 is inserted in my programming.

I have verified that the numlock is not engaged by testing it in a word document.

Hi -

I just found another problem when trying to use the arrows on the numeric keypad.

When in table view and I want to move from one field to another, instead of "moving" the cursor, it types numbers in the field.  Once again, I have verified that numlock is NOT engaged.

Thanks!

Hi -

I have never received a reply to this message and I need to get this problem resolved.  It is becoming increasingly more annoying and troublesome for me.

I spoke to Bob Hansen and he said he thought there was a way to fix this using the ini file; however, I cannot find any discussion of it on the web-site.

Can you please help me with this?

Thanks!

Spencer, I misunderstood your question on the phone.  I thought you were having navigation problems with the arrows.  I missed the part about actually typing a number value.

I was referring to new sesame.ini switch: Directional Navigation:
DIRECTONAL NAVIGATION: Allows the cursor (arrow) keys to navigate the form in geographic order. For example, with this option turned on Down Arrow is treated as "down" instead of "next".
Valid settings are ON and OFF.
Example: DIRECTONAL NAVIGATION: ON
Default: OFF

Hmmm, I wonder if those should be DIRECTIONAL NAVIGATION statements?

Must be a typo in the manual. It is actually DIRECTIONAL NAVIGATION in the INI file that Designer creates when you select File>Save Global Settings.

You are right Carl.  I did a copy/paste from the documentation.  Documentation type error.

Oops!  I almost missed the reply because it wasn't posted, as such.  I am delighted that this is fixed.  Can you please tell me when version 2.0.5 will be available for download?

Thanks!

It's in testing now. Probably be ready later this month.
