[Solved] Moving between records slowdown

I am really enjoying the Sesame 2.0 program.

That said, I am noticing that when switching between records using either F9/F10 or the Record Navigation controls, there is a 1.5 to 2 second delay before the next/previous record displays.  I thought this might be because of the large amount of programming I have in this database.  I made a backup copy and deleted all programming.  This changed nothing (at least not that I could notice).  So my next thought was it might be the fact that we have almost 10,000 records with hundreds of elements/fields each.  So I deleted all but 90 records.  Again no speed increase.

Any suggestions/reasons why this might be slow?

I do have 11 tab pages - could that do it?

Thanks

Do you have subforms?

One - with two fields on it.   No data in any of the records yet.

I deleted the subform and it did cut the time to about 3/4 of a second between records.  That is much more acceptable as far as time goes, but not very acceptable if you need/want a subform.

Undecided

Subforms in general are not a problem.

Is there programming in the subform?

Is the subform using relational or natural linking?

There was no programming in the subform.  It is using Natural Linking.

Send it into Support. We'll put it into the testbed and see what is taking the time.

Just a follow-up:

The problem turned out to be running Sesame locally on one computer and having the DB and DAT files stored on the hard drive of another computer and not running Sesame as a Client/Server setup.

I've resembled that problem...we've been waiting for "approval" to run Sesame in clent/server.  Though I never had a problem, one person had this happen storing DB and DAT files on our public access drive...we were also using relational linking, which I'm changing and testing as I add more functions to our application.
