What happens when Sesame exits?

Since moving to Client-Server, I notice that Sesame takes a relatively long time to "Exit", even when I've opened no forms (and, by extension, made no changes to any records).  The Mode just says "Working".  At first I was worried that the program was hanging, but it does eventually close.  Is there an .ini setting that affects the exit speed?

I ask because I just today read about the JUST IN TIME COMPILATION .ini switch, which I absolutely ADORE.  My app loads much faster now that I'm using it and the lag to compile on each element is barely noticeable (certainly my users will not notice it, never knowing any different).

I don't know the mechanics of how this works but I have been using it since 1.13, make a macro to exit Sesame put it on a command button it will exit immediately.
1.Record a macro
2.File Close
3.File Exit
4.stop Macro

then when you exit with the macro its immediate.

I have noticed no ill effects.  Wink

If your app is large, it can take a little while to close as Sesame releases and cleans up the memory it used to hold your app.

Erika, the memory Sesame is dealing with, is it on the client or the server?  If another user has the app open will it take as long to close, or is it just the "last user" that would be affected?

And thanks Robert, for the macro suggestion.  I'm a bit away from creating macros just yet but I've got your suggestion bookmarked.

Mostly Server. In most cases, only last user would be affected, and even they might not see anything unless they are shutting down the server or unloading the database.
