[Solved]Server No longer communicating with client

Today the client machine stopped communicating with the server, I checked the server it was up and another client still connected, I use a wired ethernet connection and was very active in the client at the time? Sad

What kind of things can cause this to happen?

Static IP addresses or DHCP?
Any Firewall on the system that the client dropped from?

What would cause that message is a drop in the TCP/IP connection between the Client and the Server Computers.

Yup. They need to be open on both ends.

The Client IP address might have changed then so the client was no longer getting communication from the Server.

This was happening to me for a while, as well, whenever the dynamic IP address for the Windows 2000 server changed.  It was fixed by assigning a static IP address to the server.
