Quick reports

I tried a Quick report with 5 items
Item
Description
Ordered
Amount  ($)
Date
A B was set for Item
   Y for Date
     S for Ordered
     S for Amount

The retrieved items were sorted by Item 1st and Date 2nd.
The report didn't print the date and did not always break on item.
For example after the break on 5005 the next group was
5013
5013
5021
5102
Am I missing something in my definition of the report?

Quick reports do not support "sub-group breaks", because there is no way to know which is the dominant and which is subordinate break element. So it ends up breaking on the last element specified as a group break. In your case, that would be the date element. But, also in your case, the date element is the subordinate sort element, so you end up with data sorted primarily by item and broken primarily by date.

If you need sub-group breaks use the report designer, so you can specify which break is dominant.

Thanks, I was just trying to take the easy way out - guess it just doesn't work that way.
