Is anyone running Sesame as a Service? If so, how did you set it up? Ver 1.1.5.

Thanks,
Fred

Hello Fred,
Below are steps that will walk you through setting up Windows Scheduled Tasks to run Sesame Server on system start up.

If you would like a copy of these instructions in PDF format, please email support@lantica.com.

Note:
These steps will work with version 1.1.X as well as version 2.

=====

Running Sesame Server Using Windows Scheduled Tasks
Steps for Windows XP & VISTA

1) Open the Windows Start Menu

     - (XP) Select All Programs => Accessories => System Tools => Scheduled Tasks

      - (VISTA) Programs => Accessories => System Tools => Task Scheduler

2) In the Scheduled Tasks window, select 'Add Scheduled Task'.

       -      The Scheduled Task Wizard will run

3) In the Scheduled Task Wizard:

       - Click 'Next' at the first screen

       - Click 'Browse' at the screen that asks you to select the program to run
            - Navigate to your Sesame2/Program directory and select Sesame.exe

       - Type a descriptive name for the Scheduled Task and set the task to run 'When my computer starts' then select 'Next'

       - Enter the login information for the account you will run Sesame Server under and select 'Next'

       - Select the 'Open advanced properties checkbox and press 'Next'

4) In the Advanced Properties window:
     - Add "-server [COMPUTER_NAME] -daemon" to the 'Run:' box
     - Remove "\Program" from the 'Start in:' box

- Click on the 'Settings' tab at the top of the window
     - Uncheck the box for 'Stop this task if it runs for…'

5) Click 'Apply' and 'OK'

You have now setup Windows to run Sesame Server when the machine starts up.

You can also use a product such as FireDaemon(http://www.firedaemon.com/) to run the Sesame Server as a Windows Service.
