I am trying to run a simple sort spec that allows me to sort data in a field in descending order to generate a report...I have been referring to the user guide (pages 296 and 416) and believe that I am following the steps accurately.  I can manually load my sort spec and then generate a report, however, simply attaching the spec to my report as indicated on page 416 produces unexpected results with data not sorted in any particular fashion. 

As always...any...and all help is very much appreciated.

When you open the Attached Specs Editor and choose Sort Spec from Spec Type, what appears in the large area right above the Attach button?

Hi Hammer:

I figured out that the problem was occurring due to errant data in the "retrieve spec" that was imported way back when we imported this particular db from Q&A.  Removing the bogus data solved the sort spec problem we were having.
