I have a main page that has a drop down box that gets it information from a employee database.

What I am wanting to do is when the employee is selected, then the information that is assigned to that employee is turned in a global vaule.

You will probably want to use ClientLocalValue() instead of GlobalValue() for a multi-user enviroment.

What information from the employee do you want stored?
