I just recently installed an application on a machine that has never had sesame installed on it.  When I run the application, everything is in very plain colors. The backgrounds of the forms are all grey.  I programmed all the forms with background of 204,204,204.  This usually comes out blue or purple -ish on most monitors.

I checked the ini file and don't see anything that would change the color.
Quote:

Y: 40
COMMAND TREE HEIGHT: 660
QUICK START: OFF
SYNTAX HIGHLIGHT: ON
HIGHLIGHT ON ENTER: ON
MENU STYLE: BUTTONS
#DEFAULT BUTTON DIRECTORY TYPE: CWD
DEFAULT BUTTON DIRECTORY TYPE: CUSTOM
DISPLAY RECENT APPLICATIONS: ON
#SCHEME: Softgradient
SPLASH IMAGE: c:\sesame2\pics\scclogonew.jpg
USER PARAM: Amanda
START FORM: Menus

If I remove the pound sign from the SCHEME line it does open using Softgradient so I am fairly certain Sesame is using this ini file (no other ini files exist on this computer)  One other strange behavior is that the Quick Start menu is active - even though it is set to off in the ini file.

I also checked and there are not any startup switches.
I set the windows settings for backgrounds and window colors to the same on both computers.

What else might I check....it is driving me crazy (well, more crazy than normal).

Thanks for any pointers.

In the windows display settings how many colors is Windows using on each computer? You can find this by Right clicking on the Desktop and choosing Personalize or Properties depending on which version of windows you have. It should be under the Settings or Display Settings section.

Hi Greg,

Any color setting with all three numbers the same is always going to be a shade of grey. If you've been seeing 204 204 204 as something other than grey, then something is wrong. The other monitors have a strange color temperature set, a missing channel, or other such.

That is what I was just discovering.  I have dual monitors at my desk and both are showing a blue color for 204,204,204.  So I just reset the monitors to default and used the Windows 7 calibrate feature.  Both monitors came out very near the same - still blue.  Must be one of two things: 1.  I'm colorblind  2. Microsoft this "feature" to color the world to their view.  lol

Thanks for your help - I'll try to let go of it so I don't end up completely crazy.
