Merge .RTF aligning issues

Currently using Word doc and save it as .RTF for Merge Print. 

When I write .RTF as:
[[Item No 1]]                [[UPC]]
[[Item No 2]]                  [[UPC2]]

It prints unaligned for example:
45481                         0-815515-12111
45418          0-815545-125244


In Q&A, we were able to Merge Print align by using (l) left and (r) right inside the [[    ]], for example:
[[Item No 1(l)]]                [[UPC(r)]]
[[Item No 2(l)]]                [[UPC2(r)]]


Any suggestions, please?

Hello,

In Word you can set that section of the document up as a table with 2 columns. Have the first column set to be left aligned and the second column set to be right aligned.
