I am having trouble adding fields to an existing database using the Database Manager / Field Manager / Transaction Builder. The application is in use in a client / server environment, so I make a copy of the application to my workstation and make my changes locally, then reconcile my changes back to the server. At least that is the plan that has worked many times in the past.

Here are my steps:
1. Make a copy of the db and dat files to my workstation.
2. Unlock the db file.
3. Redesign Current Application to create a fresh dsr and ddt files.
4. Verify that I have a working dsr file by opening it with Designer.
5. Close the Form and start the Field Manager (Database Manager).
6. Add a simple Text field using the Transaction Builder.
7. Run the Batch.
8. It crashes at about 40%.
9. The dsr and ddt files are corrupt.

I've tried starting with a backup db, same result. Right now I am officially dead in the water.

Have you tried adding the new field directly from the form, instead of using the Field Manager? It might get you past your crash while we figure out why you're crashing in the first place.

Is there any sort of utility to check integrity of a database? I managed to work around the issue late last night by exporting the database to XML then create a new database and imported it. Very hokey but it worked.
