Retrieve Spec Options

I want to retrieve records based on two condition that are not both required.  That is, I want to retrieve based on the following:

Date1>8/31/2011 OR shipmonth>8.

Is there some way to program a retrieve spec that uses and "one OR the other" to be true?

While in Search Mode, scroll down in the Button Menu until you see "Search Options".  By default, you should see an arrow next to the "All" option to the right of "Meet Restrictions:".  By clicking on the "Any" option instead, therefore causing the arrow to appear next to this option, your search restrictions should be changed from All/And, to Any/Or.
