Is there a way to export a report to excel.........or a different way to achieve the end result.  We have a report we need to print that is only two columns wide but 40 pages long!  With q&A we printed to excel and then reformated it to be two columns wide.  Is there a way in Sesame to print a report in any format that allows that prints new pages across instead of down?

Hello,

To do this you will want to follow the steps below.

When you run the Report choose the Option for HTML Immediate
Click in the address bar of the web browser that launches and highlight the path to the report. Ex: "C:/sesame2/MyReport_2011_08_05_14_13_41.htm"
Press Ctrl+C
Open Excel
Click File->Open or just open depending on your version of Excel
Click in "File name:"
Press Ctrl + V
Click Open.

I know Ray is the master here................but I have an easier method, me thinks.
First off on your Internet Browser click on the View Tab then Toolbars and check the Command Bar.
This will set up an EDIT button for WORD,EXCEL, or NOTEPAD.
Now when you open the Report and choose the Option for HTML report: Ex: "C:/sesame2/MyReport_2011_08_05_14_13_41.htm"
You simply click on the EDIT tab and choose either WORD or EXCEL and a Word Document or Excel Spreadsheet will open.

FYI:
In IE9, you right-click then select "Export to Microsoft Excel". It appears that the edit button in IE8 and IE9 is not there by default. Though, you can customize the command bar to add the Edit button.

But, of course, none of this applies if someone is using another browser, other than IE.

If you always want your reports to open in Excel, you can take this one step further and set an environment variable so Sesame will pass the report straight to Excel and not to your default web browser.

You will want to set the SESAME_PRINT_PREVIEW_COMMAND environment variable to the path to the Excel executable. Instructions on how to set an environment variable can be found starting on page 509 of the Sesame 2 User Guide. Note: If your path to Excel has spaces in it, you must put the path in quotes. ex:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 2007\Office12\EXCEL.EXE"
