Not sure if this is exactly what you're after, but you can set the Visibility of your Group Body Value "Total" to "NO" using the Property Editor. Assuming that you have a "SUM" Total in the Group Footer that shows the grand total, this will hide the individual line totals but show your grand total in the report.

If you set all the elements in your Group Body to be not Visible, only the Headers and Footers will print, resulting in a Totals Only report.

OK, that works,  but what if you also have subtotals in your report?  It gives me the subtotal figures, but not what the break value that corresponds to the subtotal?

The KB article I linked above talks about how to bring forward the break value.
