Hello!
I export data and  import it in Crytal reports. But the German umlauts (ä ü ö ß) are not displayed correctly. How can I avoid it.

Thank you very much for your help.

I must say that in the exported Sesame file  the Umlauts (ä ü ö ß) are displayed correctly. I thank  the problem lies during the import side of the Crystal Reports.

Thank you very much for your help.

Generally, Sesame uses the older method of "code-pages" to display umlauts and other "special characters". The editor you are using to view the export file probably also has support for code pages - most programs do. It may be that there is a setting in Crystal to allow it to also support the older method.

Using cut&paste, as opposed to interactive "dead key", you can also get Sesame to use and store the newer "unicode" or UTF-8 multibyte characters that are certainly supported by Crystal. We have tried to have Sesame be compatible to some degree with the newer formats, without sacrificing the older.
