Subform will not link to parent

I have spent hours on end doing something that normally takes me 2 minutes, Please help!

What in the world could stop a subform from making subrecords related naturally?

I have 1 database called Hicfa that the subform records will not stick. I have tried everything. I can create subforms and add records that stick perfectly with as many databases as I want but my 1 Hicfa that has a specific looking form will not work.

I have removed all programming from it just for fun and tried it in other databases and it still will not work. I have recreated the subform dozens of times and also in other databases and Hicfa will not work correctly.

I just created 3 subforms in a database they all let me add subrecords but 2 of them keep the records associated with the parent my 1 Hicfa will not.

What should I be looking at? I really do not want to remake the form from scratch.

Thanks

Nothing abnormal.

Have you ever seen a subform that would not link?

Thanks

Hi Robert,

If you trim the Hicfa database into it's own separate application and delete all data records, I'd be glad to take a look at it and see what is going on with it. Just zip it up and send it to support@lantica.com

Ok I sent it off. Thanks

I learned another amazing thing about Sesame today!

In the past I have used trim mostly to eliminate a single database or 2 from an application. I always did 1 at a time.

Since we wanted Hicfa alone I had to eliminate a ton of other databases from the application. I learned that I could highlight as many as I wanted before the trim and it does them all at the same time. It was fast and easy.

Sesame is constantly finding ways to blow my mind. It is the greatest.

Hi Robert,

The problem with the form is that my password to the application was probably my least favorite musical artist, if you could call that music  Grin

In all seriousness, as you pointed out it would work in form view just not in Table View. Table view in general would not work on the HIFCA form. The reason is because you have an element bound to a field that doesn't exist. How did this happen you may ask? I've seen it happen when importing forms and in older versions when copying elements between forms. Simply unbind that element and you are good to go. Well except for your taste in music, There is still a problem there......

Ray,

Once again, Thanks so much!

Your skills are remarkable and the customer service from you all is the best.

With your talents and abilities Ray, you should not be afraid to admit publicly your love of Frank Zappa. It's ok, we can start a campaign and get everyone to send you his albums.

Seriously Ray, Thanks so much for the help, it is very, very, very appreciated.
