breaks in reports

I have a report that gives me subtotals by product, by month for each customer.  I want to add another subtotal so that it also gives me a subtotal  for each customer of all product.   My breaks right now are  1. customer 2. month

Right now in order to get that info I have to print a separate report for each customer.

What order are you trying to get the data in your report to display in? Are you after a report that breaks in the order 'Month > Customer > Product', which could look something like:

January

     Jane Smith
          Product A
          January 01, 2013     5   Product A   $100.00
          January 07, 2013     6   Product A   $120.00
          January 13, 2013     4   Product A   $80.00
          January 27, 2013     2   Product A   $40.00
          =================================

I wouldn't need the total for January (68 units $ 1360.00)

But just the subtotals for product a & b  (34 units and $ 680)

It looks like you are on the right track to get the results you are after. Try making 'Month' your first group break, and 'Customer' your second group break. You can also add a third group to your report to handle breaking on 'Product' (giving you subtotals for each product purchased by a customer).

To display your data in the correct areas of your report, you'll want to sort your records by Month, Customer, and Product (in that order) prior to running your report so Products are grouped with the appropriate Customer, and Customers appear beneath the appropriate Month.

If you run into any difficulty getting this to work please post a screenshot of your report's design, or email it to support@lantica.com
