Preventing Subtable Searches

Hey all,

Here's my next challenge ... my application often crashes when someone does something crazy, like run a wildcard search in a subtable.

I've been able to minimize the problem with a hardware upgrade and a change to linux on the server, but it still happens now and then.  With 15 users in 4 locations, someone can inadvertently take down our entire system for 5-10 minutes until we restore and boot it up again.

What I'd like to do is prevent a search value from being done with data in any of the subtable fields.

What would be the best way to go about locking this down, without making the subform read only?

Thanks!

Have you reported this to support? I would very much like to reproduce this and then fix it.

I have ... it's one of the reasons we switched from a windows server to a linux server (and beefed up the hardware).

When 2-3 people are logged in, there are no issues.  But when multiple functions are running, with multiple users and locations, it gets a little sketchy ...
