Training Videos

Hello All!

I've started the process of making my Sesame training courses freely available as videos.

The first six are online, organized into a handy playlist. Four more videos will be added to this playlist to complete the Using Sesame Database Manager for Everyday Tasks series. Future series will cover Q&A Translation, Using Sesame Designer, Designing Sesame Reports, and Programming with SBasic.

Subscribe to the Hammer Data Systems YouTube Channel to be notified when new videos are added. All videos are closed captioned.

Very nice. That should really help new users understand Sesame fast. As we all know, nobody seems to read manuals. Watching videos is much easier, and usually makes it easier to comprehend the material when presented well, like this.

I finally have a valuable reason to watch YouTube. I always knew Erika belonged on TV.

Thanks for making these available. They will be great for people new to Sesame but also great refreshers for those of us that may have fallen into some bad habits.

Is it possible to make the videos available for download?  We don't allow YouTube here in my agency but I saw the first one last night and feel it would be very beneficial for all the demos I have to do internally.

I'll ask Erika if we can do this in the near future, and have a link to the video files on the Lantica web site or Hammer Data System's web site - for viewing or download.

In order to download youtube video, you just need to use browser extension. So many of them are freely available. Just for test, I used Video Downloadhelper in FireFox and I could easily download and play the video on local computer. Also, many extensions available for Chrome Browser for this purpose for free. I do not think, setting has anything to do with this.

We don't allow access to YouTube at my agency so browser extensions won't help if I can't even get to it.  Also, I'm not inclined to do the downloading at home and bring them back to the office because of security policies I'd have to get exempted for to transfer the data to our servers for offline viewing.

I've upload a zip file for you Robert.
http://hammerdata.com/videos/sesame2/DUBIPack.zip

It contains all 10 videos in the Everyday Tasks playlist and the associated caption files, in case you have hearing impaired coworkers. It's 160MB.

Thank you very much!  I've downloaded them and they play just fine.  This will be very helpful with new employees and departments that use Sesame.
